Boys, Girls Squash Teams Wrap Season

The varsity squash teams concluded their seasons Saturday and Sunday with five total matches in the consolation portion of the U.S. National Team Championships.

The girls finished 2-1 with a 6-1 win over Baldwin's JV and losses to Hotchkiss (Lakeville, CT), by 5-2, and Winsor School (Boston), by 4-3, while the boys went 0-2 with setbacks versus Shipley, 6-1, and McDonogh (Owings Mill, MD), 4-3.

Ninth grader Elisabeth Ross starred for the girls while storming to 3-0 victories in all three matches. Her most compelling game was the first against Winsor. She won that one, 17-15. Mia Bezar and Charlotte Murray captured two wins apiece. Other winners, against Baldwin, were Hatti Specter, Gabriela Rodriguez and Gwen Davis.

For the boys, triumphs were posted by Marco Rodriguez (two), Marker Angelakis and Max Lubowitz. The latter scrambled back for a 3-2 win vs. McDonogh after dropping the first two games.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
