Back on the River ... and Fast!

It's once again time for that legendary nursery rhyme to bounce around in your head . . . Row, Row, Row Your Boat.

Sunday on the Schuylkill River, varsity crew made its 2016 debut in the second Manny Flick event of the season and good times were posted by many.

The top performance was recorded in girls double by senior Sally Stanley (North Carolina commit) and junior Kelsey White. Their clocking of 6:03.19 was No. 1 not only in their flight, but overall counting all three flights.

Also notching a win was junior Stephen Flemming. He captured his junior single flight with a time of 5:48.56.

More outcomes:

  • Girls JV single: Sophomore Maria Perry placed second in 6:36.42.
  • Girls JV quad; Juniors Madeline Whitehead, Julie Webb, Hunter Smith and Emma Grugan placed second in 5:59.54.
  • Girls lightweight double: Junior Sharon Zea-Rincon and soph Anna Pogrebivsky placed third in 6:46.91.
  • Boys lightweight double: Seniors Cesar Centeno and Gordon Robertson placed (in the best flight) in 5:31.00.

The third, fourth and fifth Manny Flick events will be held April 3, 10 and 17.
