Baseball Under the Lights

On Wednesday night, almost all PC students were (hopefully) doing their homework. Not the members of the baseball varsity.

Those Quakers traveled to Bear, Del., for a 7 o'clock game vs. Caravel Academy.

Though the result was a 6-4 loss, the players will long remember having played a game on a school night, under the lights, especially at a place not exactly around the corner from good, ol' School House Lane & Fox Street.

PC won the hits contest, 11-9, as four juniors (Brendan Pell, Mike Siani, Dom Toso and Alex Cohen) and Sammy Siani, Mike's freshman brother, stroked two apiece. Oddly, the three RBI were posted by the last three guys in the order – Cohen, S. Siani and senior Frank Driscoll.

Though junior Matt Gorman suffered the loss, no doubt he felt good about having delivered 19 first-pitch strikes.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
