Lacrosse Wins One, Loses One

Big numbers popped up everywhere Friday as Penn Charter hosted archrival Germantown Academy in girls varsity lacrosse.

And we don't mean totals for clouds and raindrops.

PC won the game, 19-10, and Greer Guyer topped Macaul Mellor, 10-8. Here's the explanation . . . Greer, a sophomore, racked up 10 stats thanks to five goals, one assists and four draws. Mellor, a junior, also pumped home five goals. She added three draws.

Senior Hannah Fox (three) and junior Courtney Cubbin (two) also tallied multiple goals. Senior Meredith Chernak, junior Perri Keehfus and ninth graders Emma Wilson/Molly Visco contributed one apiece. Fox and Keehfuss halved four draws.

In a road game, PC's boys varsity lax squad fell to Haverford School, 14-8.

Senior Cody Sweeney (five) was the lone senior with multiple goals. Classmate Sean McKee was credited with 10 saves.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
