Weekly Roundup: May 9-14

Last week was big for PC athletics. In case you missed them, here is a quick roundup of top stories about our teams. 

Baseball beat (#1 in the league) Malvern 1-0 on Monday and bested GA on Thursday.  

Softball shut out GA 15-0 and topped Baldwin.

Boys Lacrosse beat GA 11-7 and the game was covered in the Inquirer by Aaron Carter OPC '98. 

Boys Tennis gutted out a win against Episcopal Academy and took second in the Inter-Ac.

Varsity Boys Track & Field took second at Inter-Ac Champs with top-three placements in seven events. PC girls took sixth.

Middle School Boys Track and Field won the Inter-Ac Championships!

And finally, sophomore swimmer Reece Whitley was profiled in the New York Times.

Penn Charter has provided student athletes with resources to match their talents. On 44 acres, Penn Charter offers its players and fans:

  • five grass playing fields, two synthetic turf fields, one all-weather, eight-lane track, seven tennis courts, 10 squash courts, four basketball courts, and one swimming pool.
  • PC has four buildings designated for athletics: Graham Athletics Center — with the new Blaine A. Steinberg OPC '11 Center for Fitness and Performance  Kline & Specter Squash Center, Ray Dooney Field House, and the Old Gym.
