Tuesday Update for Lax & Tennis

Tuesday was Senior Day for girls varsity lacrosse players Sarah Fleming, Hannah Fox and Meredith Chernak.

Unfortunately, the good vibrations felt by all during the pregame ceremony were not sustained as Penn Charter was dealt a 15-5, rainy-day setback by Agnes Irwin.

The visitors scored the first six goals, along with the last five.

Sophomore Lex Joseph scored twice for PC. Juniors Courtney Cubbin and Macaul Mellor joined senior Hannah Fox in the one-apiece club.

PC did have an impressive stretch early in the second half as Mellor, Cubbin and Joseph combined for three goals in 1 minute, 34 seconds.

Fox notched her tally with 10:29 left. She accepted a pass from fellow senior Meredith Chernak on the left side and scored on a rocket-fast, lefthanded shot from five yards out.

Boys Tennis Update: After a long day of singles play, junior Greg Zlobinsky emerged from the Inter-Ac Singles Championships with the 2nd place trophy.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
