Neeko Captures Inter-Ac Passing Record

William Penn Charter School Philadelphia private Inter-Ac football

One Penn Charter guy bid adieu Friday night to the Inter-Ac record for career passing yardage. Thankfully, the mark stayed in-house.

In a 27-0 win at Interboro, a public school in Delaware County, senior Mike "Neeko" Hnatkowsky passed 12-for-26 for 202 yards and one TD to junior Terence Thompson, raising his yardage total to 4,899. Neeko, a four-year starter, is 300-for-562 and has thrown for 47 TDs. John Loughery OPC '11, now a graduate assistant at Temple, finished his PC career with 4,780 yards.

At Interboro Hnatkowsky and soph Edward Saydee (20 carries, 64 yards) added rushing TDs while senior Adam Kuper hammered field goals of 33 and 28 yards.

Junior John Washington and soph Brendan Thomas notched interceptions. Fumble recoveries were made by seniors Denarii Beard and Bill Costello and soph Demetrius de Ramus.

The Quakers' performance was especially impressive in light of the 20-day layoff since the season-opening victory over Lansdale Catholic in Ocean City, NJ. That win was followed by a cancellation and a bye.

Congratulations to Neeko and a shoutout to his receivers, coach Tom Coyle and, above with Neeko, Offensive Coordinator Chris Rahill OPC '99. More photos.
