PC Golf's Brian Isztwan No. 1 in Inter-Ac

William Penn Charter School Philadelphia private Inter-Ac golf

The Inter-Ac League's golf championship is decided by performances over six Invitational Tournaments, as hosted one apiece by each of the six schools.

Tourney No. 6 was held Wednesday at Gulph Mills Golf Club, the home course for Haverford School, and Penn Charter finished fourth with a score of 257. That result also left the Quakers in fourth place overall. Episcopal claimed the crown.

Junior Brian Isztwan led the way for PC with a 38-shot effort. Classmate Noah Schwartz (shown above) was one stroke behind at 39.

Also, Gary Duda, Malvern's coach, has released the league's individual rankings based on all six invitationals and they show that Isztwan was the I-A's number one performer! Brian was the regular-season Inter-Ac champ in ninth grade, too.

There were 48 entrants in each event. Against the other 47 (282 matches), Brian finished with a record of 248-24-10.

Three other Quakers also placed in the Top 25. Schwartz' record was 213-54-15 for fifth while senior Joey Centeno (146-113-23) and soph Dylan Topaz (135-117-30) placed 20th and 22nd, respectively.
