PC Soccer in the Spotlight!

How to describe this season for Penn Charter soccer?

“Remarkable,” said John Thiel, director of athletics and athletic planning. “To have two teams potentially league champs and playing in the final four in state competition is a remarkable season. It could be unprecedented.”

The girls and boys both play today (Nov. 10) in the PAISAA semifinals. The girls play against SCH at home at 2:30 pm. The boys are busing out to western Pennsylvania to play Kiski School, in Saltsburg, at 3:30 pm.

Kiski is streaming that game.

A win in the semifinal for either team would mean they would play for the state championship next Wednesday.

Of course, there is a very important competition before that. PC/GA Day is Saturday at GA; boys play at 10 and girls at 10:45 am. The girls have clinched the Inter-Ac title. The boys will be playing for a share of the league title; a PC win against GA, combined with a Haverford win over EA on Saturday, would give the boys team the outright title.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
