Soccer New Guard vs Old Guard

Just when you thought the fall sports season had concluded . . . Voila, special event!

Saturday morning, coach Bobby DiBenedetto supervised a 60-minute alumni game on Maguire Field.

The Old Guard thumped the New Guard, 7-2.

Basically, the OG featured players from the classes of 2007 and '08. The NW were more recent OPCs.

Scott Gorman OPC '08, who played in college at West Virginia, led the assault with three goals. Classmate Scott Kaesshaefer OPC '08 tallied twice while Tim Drabyak OPC '07 and Dan Lyons OPC '08 notched one goal apiece.

Sam Agre OPC '13 pumped home both goals for NG.

DiBenedetto just finished his 10th season as PC's coach with an outright Inter-Ac championship and an appearance in the PAISAA final. In that one, the Quakers played Hill School, of Pottstown, to a scoreless tie through 90 minutes then fell via penalty kicks, 12-11.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
