Indoor Track Racing, Jumping to Success

Penn Charter's indoor track teams headed to Ursinus College on Wednesday to compete in an invitational event sponsored by Hill School. Nine individuals earned top-three finishes, as did two relays.

For the boys, winners were senior Chris Tucker in the 55-meter dash (6.63 seconds) and Akeem Blake in the high jump (6 feet). Soph Patrick Gabor took second behind Blake while thirds were notched by seniors Pat McLaughlin in the 55 hurdles (8.64) and Joshua Patton in the mile (5:00.48).

For the girls, senior Marilyn Pease won the high jump at 4-10. Placing second were senior Felicia Robinson in the long jump (14-1) and junior Jernee Watson in the pole vault (6-6). Senior Tina Kingsberry was third in that event, also with a 6-6 effort.

On each side, the 4x800 relays placed second.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
