Sunday Sports Action

Except for multi-school events, Sunday activity is not too common for Penn Charter's athletic teams. But when dicey weather is ruling the spring and Sunday turns out to be pretty darn nice...

Play ball!

In their first home game of the season, the Quakers hosted Nazareth Academy and raised their record to 6-1 by carving out an 8-6 victory.

Senior right-hander Faith Fenton (five innings) and junior lefty Ava Nicolucci divided the pitching duties.

Senior Brigitte Gutpelet set the tone in the leadoff spot with a double and triple. Soph Abby Quinn (double) and freshman Maddie Solow collected two RBI apiece, and Fenton hit that same number.

The crew team competed in the season's third Manny Flick event on the Schuylkill River.

Senior Stephen Flemming took third in his flight in the varsity 1X with a time of 5:21.43. In the varsity 4X, senior Kelsey White, soph Lucy Alter, senior Emma Grugan and junior Maria Perry clocked 5:11.34 for second in their flight and fifth overall.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
