Softball, Girls LAX Game Summaries

penn charter, inter-ac, lacrosse, softballWednesday was one of THOSE days.

Two girls varsity teams were in action and both suffered difficult losses.

Playing at home on Senior Day, softball fell to Notre Dame, 7-1. Lacrosse made the trek to Downingtown West and was edged, 7-6, in overtime.

When the Clock Tower showed 5 p.m., five swift innings had already been played and almost nothing of note had happened. Would there be five more innings? Ten more?

ND provided an emphatic no, swatting its way to five runs in the sixth. The Quakers wound up collecting just three hits for the game, and striking out nine times.

In the lacrosse game, due to yellow cards, PC was short two players through the final 16 minutes of regulation and entire OT session.

Senior Courtney Cubbin and junior Alexis Joseph scored three goals apiece.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
