Girls Soccer Nets Payback Win at EA

What a difference a month makes. Not to mention a site.

Back on Sept. 19, Penn Charter's girls soccer team played host to Episcopal Academy and fell by a 3-0 score.

Wednesday, the teams met again in Newtown Square and the score again was 3-0. In PC's favor!

Freshman Janae Stewart and senior Giovanna "Gi" DeMarco (assist to freshman Kate Haughey) scored the first two goals and soph Toni Linus (assist to junior Emma Maley off a corner kick) capped the afternoon with counter No. 3.

Senior Mack Listman (pictured above) recorded the shutout and coach Darci Spencer credited her with "an outstanding performance."

She added, "I don't know how many saves she had, but it was a lot."

Boys water polo hosted Hill School and lost, 16-10.

A strong performance by senior Sean McLafferty included three goals, two assists and three steals. Soph Lance Rainer racked up three goals, senior Alex Koenig dealt two assists and soph Bret Brogan made three thefts.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
