It's still early February and Penn Charter's boys squash team likely wishes the season could continue for a couple more weeks, if not a month.

It's called mojo and these guys have it.

Wednesday, coach Damon Leedale-Brown's crew ended the 2017-18 campaign by clipping SCH Academy B, 7-2, to win the championship in Division 2 of the Mid-Atlantic Squash Association Tournament.

"Really proud of the performance by the boys," Leedale-Brown said. "Great way to end the season with a win in the MASA Division 2 final."

Leading the way, in the first and second slots, were senior captains Marco Rodriguez and Marker Angelakis. Their winning scores were 3-0 and 3-2.

Eighth grader Hyun Su Price and soph Jack Kennedy posted shutout victories. Eighth grader Oliver Leedale-Brown (Damon' son) and juniors Tom Bradbeer/Rohan Bhambhani needed four games to earn W's.

Also part of PC's lineup were frosh Ryan Yeatman and soph Eli Kestenbaum. Senior Ben Swanson, the usual competitor in the No. 3 slot, was unavailable due to a college interview. "That potentially made things a little tougher for us going into the match," the coach noted.
