Softball Wins Big against Agnes Irwin

Softball earned a shutout victory over Agnes Irwin in another Inter-Ac matchup yesterday, winning 18-0.

Ava Nicolucci pitched five innings without giving up a single run, allowing only two hits and earning five strikeouts. The Quakers were near flawless, recording zero errors during the game.

Highlights of the Quakers' offensive efforts included sophomore Maddie Solow going 3-for-4 at the plate and recording an inside-the-park home run; junior Abby Quinn with a triple and earning four RBIs; and classmate Abby Manion adding three RBIs.

After that impressive victory, the team will get busy preparing for Germantown Academy on Friday at home on Max Gross Softball Field.

Boys tennis hosted Shipley School at home on Wednesday, but suffered a close 3-2 loss.

The Quakers earned one win during singles competition and two wins in doubles, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.

Senior Ben Swanson earned a victory in two sets in singles (6-4, 6-4). Junior Thomas Bradbeer and freshman Josh John added another victory in doubles winning their match (6-1, 6-0).
