Softball, Boys and Girls Lax Win League Games

Boys lacrosse earned a dominant 7-1 victory over Germantown Academy yesterday to conclude Inter-Ac play with a 3-2 record.

Seven different players scored goals for the Quakers during the big rivalry game. PC established a 2-1 lead heading into halftime, courtesy of goals from Spencer Gallant and Conor McKee. The team added five goals in the second half and surrendered zero to the opposition to cap the big win.

Luke Brogan, Blake Target, Gavin Tygh, Peter Malitas and Antonio DeMarco each scored a goal in the second half to extend the lead and seal the victory. The team will prepare to host the Inter-Ac Tournament on Tuesday, May 15, at Perrott Field.

Girls lacrosse hosted the Baldwin School at home on Friday and earned a strong 12-7 victory. The game was tied 5-5 at halftime before PC turned up the offense in the second half, scoring seven goals to earn the decisive victory.

Eighth-grader Darcy Felter was the leading scorer for the Quakers with three goals, and fellow eighth-grader Lane Murray also provided valuable contributions, adding two goals of her own. Sophomore classmates Vanessa Ewing and Leah Sax both scored two goals as well.

Mia Ferraro, Emma Wilson and Kaylee Dyer accounted for the other three goals for PC. The team will travel to Episcopal Academy on Tuesday, May 15, for an away game, which will conclude their regular-season schedule.

On Senior Day, softball earned a 8-2 win over the Baldwin School at home yesterday. A big first inning allowed the Quakers to set the tone for the game as they scored four runs. PC added two more runs in the bottom of the third inning and two more in the sixth inning to seal the victory.

Sophomore classmates Maddie Solow and Anastasia Lewis were strong on the mound allowing just two runs. The team will be back in action on Tuesday, May 15, when they travel to Episcopal Academy for an away game to wrap up league play.
