Softball, Bball Win in PAISSA, Play Again Today

Softball earned a 4-2 win over Notre Dame in the semi-finals of the PAISSA State Tournament yesterday at home on Max Gross Field. The Quakers advance to the state championship game against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy at Arcadia University and will play today at 5 pm.

Senior Ava Nicolucci pitched four strong innings and sophomore Anastasia Lewis pitched the remaining three innings to seal the victory for PC during the competitive game. 

Junior Abby Quinn was impressive at the plate with two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Sophomore Maddie Solow hit a double and found a way to score, stealing home to give the Quakers the lead. PC added one more run in the sixth inning to seal the victory.

The win over Notre Dame marks a 3-0 season record over the Irish.

Baseball earned a 10-0 win over Germantown Friends School yesterday, Senior Day, in the first round of the PAISSA State Tournament at Palaia Field. Senior Will Samuel, freshman Jake Siani, freshman Colin Lewandowski and freshman Josh Felter combined for a three-hit shutout on the mound.

The Quakers showcased impressive hitting, highlighted by a huge second inning scoring seven runs. Junior Sam Siani got the Quakers on the board with a big homerun in the first inning and the team stayed in control for the remainder of the game.

The team advances to the second round of the PAISSA State Tournament and will play against Springside Chestnut Hill Academy at 4 pm today at home on Palaia Field.
