Baseball Season Ends at Semifinals

Baseball played Malvern Prep in the semi-finals of the PAISSA State Tournament on Saturday, May 26 at the Perkiomen School, but dropped a tough 10-1 loss. Penn Charter entered the tournament seeded fourth and earned two strong wins over Germantown Friends School, 10-0, and Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, 12-5, to earn a trip to the semis and cap an impressive season.

Senior Luke Mattice earned a hit and sophomore Gavin Zavorski added a RBI for the Quakers. An early deficit was tough to overcome after surrendering four runs in the first inning. Additionally, offensive opportunities were limited due to a strong pitching effort from Malvern. Malvern defeated Episcopal Academy, 13-3, later Saturday night to claim their second straight PAISAA State Championship.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
