Winter Teams Heading for the Finish

Boys and Girls squash teams had a great weekend at the High School Nationals At Yale University in New Haven, Ct. The girls placed 5th in Division 1 - they lost a close quarter final match against Baldwin 4-3, but finished off with excellent performance in both the play-off matches to secure the 5th place spot. The boys placed 3rd in the Boys Division III, only losing the one match to eventual winners of the Division, St Lukes. Overall a great weekend of squash for both teams.

Girls Basketball finishes the regular season with a 20-4 record and a second place finish in the league. They are seeded second in the PAISAA Basketball Tournament, and have a first round bye. The girls will play at home this Wednesday, 7/26/11 versus the winner of the Baldwin-Shipley game. The Boys Basketball team opens tournament play away tomorrow, 2/15/11 against ANC at 4:30pm. Good luck to both teams.

Wrestling and Swimming continue to train this week in preparation of post season competition. The wrestlers are entered into the annual PAISWT Tournament this weekend. The boys will be competing on Friday and Saturday at the Westtown School.

Boys and Girls swim teams are training hard in anticipation for Easterns. Hosted by LaSalle University, this highly competitive swim meet takes place on February 25 and 26.

Go Charter!

The spirit of Penn Charter athletics is built on a storied tradition of excellence and the belief that the interplay of academics, arts and athletics leads to strong, creative, resilient and flexible people.

Skilled teachers and coaches help our students understand – whether on the playing field or in the classroom – how to collaborate and compete, how to win with grace, and how to handle challenges and setbacks.

Our school cheer is: Go Charter!

We appreciate the student athletes who are now powering PC to great feats, and look forward to welcoming those who will do so in the future. Also, of course, we eternally appreciate the efforts of all OPCs!
