Spring Seasons Come to a Close

The boys and girls lacrosse teams both won their first round games in post-season play this May. The boys defeated theHunSchool17-9 and the girls won at home against Friends Central 12-8. The boys play GA on Wednesday (5/18) at GA and the girls play on Wednesday (5/18) atBaldwin. The semi-finals for the boys tournament are scheduled for Saturday(5/21) atCabriniCollegeand the girls final game is Saturday(5/21) atEasternCollege. 

Baseball has a first round game with Mercersburg at PC on Wednesday (5/18).

 Softball begins post season tournament action next Tuesday, 5/24.
Softball will play several regular season games as they continue to be in the hunt for the league championship.

 League tennis champs are Wednesday (5/18) at EA.

 Track finished second in the 2011 Inter-Ac Champs for boys and girls. The champs were held at PC on Saturday(5/14). It was a good day for track and the first time ever that the boys and girls inter-ac leagues combined for this historic (125th year) track meet. PC athletes had competed well but fell short to Malvern and Notre Dame. Excellent individual performance was achieved by Daryl Worley who placed first in the 100M, 200M, and 400M races.  

Crew had a solid performance in the City Championships and they are entered in the Stotesbury Regatta this Friday(5/200 and Saturday(5/21).

Penn Charter has provided student athletes with resources to match their talents. On 44 acres, Penn Charter offers its players and fans:

  • five grass playing fields, two synthetic turf fields, one all-weather, eight-lane track, seven tennis courts, 10 squash courts, four basketball courts, and one swimming pool.
  • PC has four buildings designated for athletics: Graham Athletics Center — with the new Blaine A. Steinberg OPC '11 Center for Fitness and Performance  Kline & Specter Squash Center, Ray Dooney Field House, and the Old Gym.
