Camp Staff

Tim Lynch (aka “Doc”) has been teaching science for the past 28 years, 20 years at Penn Charter, teaching biology, molecular biology, space biology, botany and robotics. Doc has received the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program’s Teacher Recognition Award. He will be assisted by some terrific staff from Penn Charter’s Day Camp.

Program Highlights

Drone Camp will use Syma X11C drones. Syma is world renowned as a leading manufacture of innovative products for the drone industry. This particular drone, the X11C, is equipped with the latest 6-axis flight control systems, 3D lock, more scheduled flight, operating more to the force – basically easy to use! Campers will receive their own drone to use throughout this four-day camp. Once the basics of flight safety and design are under our belts, we will form Drone Scientist Lab Groups. Members of these groups, now part of the PCAA (Penn Charter Aviation Administration), will learn how to precisely fly drones through obstacle courses and have an inflight photo contest with the built in drone cameras. Swim and recreational options included.

Daily Schedule:

Day 1
Flight basics and safety.   Learn how to fly!

Day 2
First obstacle course challenge and high altitude challenge.

Day 3
Photo challenge.

Day 4
Safe landing challenge

Rainy/Windy Day
Indoor flight

Schedule includes daily free swim and recreational activities.

Lunch Option
Don't feel like packing lunch in the summertime? Try our lunch option. Campers will be served a nutritious and balanced meal with various choices. Daily offerings will include one entree (salad, sandwich or grill item) one small drink, and one snack or fruit. Cost: $6/day, $24/week. Campers are encouraged to sign up in advance if interested in this option, although cash “drop-ins” will be accepted.

Extended-Day Program
