Program Highlights
How do we create movement from still images? How can we tell our stories frame by frame? During this week, students will explore how to create short films through hands-on approaches. Each day, we will test a different approach and offer students to work and reflect. From learning how to storyboard a narrative, they will create hand drawn flipbooks, laser cut paper figures, and use LEGO kits to take on mini challenges and create their own films. The final afternoon of camp will be a mini film festival with popcorn and treats as the student have the opportunity to share their creations.

Camp Staff
With experience in a wide variety of educational platforms, Clancy brings an interdisciplinary approach to his creative classes. For over a decade Clancy has been teaching, mentoring, and working alongside students of all ages as an art instructor, outdoor educator, leadership coach, baseball coach, and creative collaborator. He currently is a member of the Visual Art and Design Faculty at Penn Charter where he teaches across a variety of mediums and advises the student-run Art Club. His independent work has been exhibited across the United States and has recently been featured on BBC, The Huffington Post, ArtBlog, and Ethiopian TV. His collaborative practice has lead to recent projects with Circadium and Almanac Dance Circus Theatre, as well as social projects with the world-renowned Mural Arts Program, Project HOME, the BLM movement, and hundreds of local students.

Lunch Option
Don't feel like packing lunch in the summertime? Try our lunch option. Campers will be served a nutritious and balanced meal with various choices. Daily offerings will include one entree (salad, sandwich or grill item) one small drink, and one snack or fruit. Cost: $6/day, $30/week. Campers are encouraged to sign up in advance if interested in this option, although cash “drop-ins” will be accepted. The lunch option is not available for Junior Bunks (most three-, four- and five-year-olds). No refunds/credits for missed days/weeks.
