The Parent Community is excited to launch this new teach and learn program where Penn Charter parents and caregivers share expertise and common interests. Members of our community will lead workshops to share their knowledge with others. Join us to learn about topics that interest you, enjoy the company of fellow parents, and connect outside of our school-related volunteer efforts. If you have a special talent or passion that you'd like to share with our community, please contact Jennifer Fiss or Laura Sibson. The marketing and promotion of a business is strictly prohibited. All workshops are offered free of charge.

Learn to Climb or Belay: Come challenge yourself at a "Learn to Rock Climb" session.  You will learn about safety, movement, and the joys of climbing!

Class will use Challenge by Choice that encourages, but will not pressure you on how high you want to climb.

PC Cake Pops

Have you ever wanted to learn how to make cake pops? Join in this fun hands-on workshop as we show our PC spirit and make Penn Charter themed cake pops! No skill or previous experience necessary--just an interest in having a fun couple of hours getting messy with cake and chocolate!

Mindfulness Meditation

We all know that research has shown that mindfulness practice offers numerous benefits for mental and physical health and wellbeing. We all know this, and yet, it still can be tough to find the time and the willingness to practice. Practicing mindfulness meditation with others in a group setting is one of the most supportive ways to begin and maintain a personal mindfulness practice. Group mindfulness “drop-in" sessions are being offered monthly for Penn Charter parents and caregivers.

Take Control of Your Life

This workshop will introduce people to the principles that help people take control of their busy, overworked and often overextended lives. Sessions will be engaging, and Lynn will present personal stories, humor and humility to help participants stay
connected to the content. The presenter holds a bachelor’s degree of Interdisciplinary Studies, two masters degrees, and has been formally trained as an Executive Coach.

"What Do I Do With All my Child's Art Projects?”

Do you have piles and piles of precious artwork from your child/ren? Are you afraid to throw it away, or do you throw it away when no one is looking and then wish you had saved it? If you answered yes to one of these questions, then it's time to reduce, reuse and redesign. Join creative Lower School mom in a morning of mimosas and brunch treats and get some ideas about how to turn the artwork into placemats and table runners, greeting cards and even fabric. See new ways to frame or display artwork and turn into ornaments to embellish presents. You get permission to throw most of it away, but keep it all!

Accessing Your Creative Genius

Have you wanted to write, but believed that you lack ideas or time or talent? Join us and discover how to access your creativity through guided exercises. Learn tools to utilize in the world. See how creativity can help you in other areas of your life. Bring a notebook and a writing tool and the willingness to dive in.

Children see our deeds and take note.
