Basketball Camp (Varsity Camp)

Program Highlights
Individual instruction; skill development with emphasis on dribbling, shooting, passing; individual and team defensive concepts; understanding the game; enhanced team concepts; shooting contests; competitions, including one-on-one, three-on-one, five-on-five, foul shooting; games.

Coaching Staff
Joe Maguire is the head coach for Penn Charter’s girls varsity basketball team. He has coachedhttps://www.penncharter.com/uploaded/summer_camp/basketball_girls_6_22_06_pc_120_lo.jpg basketball at all levels for many years, and his experience includes coaching at Father Judge, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and Archbishop Ryan. National Prep champions was a standout player in high school and NCAA Division II basketball, and he earned his undergraduate and graduate degree in education. Currently, Joe is a teacher at Penn Charter.

Chris Rodgers coaches both boys middle school and high school varsity basketball teams. As a student, he played for Penn Charter and for Susquehanna University. He has worked for the Philadelphia 76ers and currently works with the National Scouting Report assisting high school athletes in the college recruiting process.

Joe and Chris have been involved in running camp programs for many years.

2023 Enrollment Information for Varsity Camps

Full payment for Varsity Camps is required at time of registration. We accept credit card, money order, cash or check payable to William Penn Charter School. There is also a $30 registration fee for each applicant (whether attending one or multiple camps).

Please note: We are not able to offer a lunch option or extended-day. Camp participants must provide their own lunch, including a beverage. Transportation is not available for Basketball Camp or Soccer Camp. 

All campers must have a physical examination prior to camp. Print and complete this physical exam form for each camper and returned to the summer camp office before the first day of camp.

By registering, campers and their families agree that should they develop any symptoms in the weeks leading up to camp or during camp (or have exposure to persons who are ill with Covid-19 symptoms), they will immediately and voluntarily withdraw from participation in the camp until they have confirmed negative test results and are cleared by a physician.
