Arduino circuits

Program Highlights
In this camp, we will combine coding and electronics and make our own flashing light display. Campers will learn the basics of Arduino programing and circuit design.

We offer five stand-alone STEAM camps, during which campers will investigate the science, technology, engineering, art and math of a different topic. Each day will be spent doing hands on projects and making art. Campers are welcome to attend for one or more weeks.

Camp Staff: Naomi Hampsom
Naomi Hampson is a STEM educator and robotics instructor with a nonprofit after-school program. Throughout the year she develops and leads fun hands-on STEM workshops for grades 3 through 12. She believes that STEAM should be accessible to everyone and that by learning more about STEAM fields, people can find the connections between nature, science, technology, math and art. Naomi has an undergraduate degree in physics from West Chester University and a master's degree and PhD in materials science and engineering from Drexel University. In addition to working as a STEM educator, Naomi is also an artist and a technical photographer. Her photographs have been published in several books, including two textbooks.

2023 Enrollment Information for One-Week Specialty Camps

Enrollment is limited, so please register early. Full payment is due at time of registration in order to hold a spot for your child and is nonrefundable. We accept credit card, money order or check payable to William Penn Charter School. If registering after June 1, full payment is due in the form of a credit card or money order.

Please note: We are not able to offer a lunch option or extended-day. Campers must bring their own lunch, including a beverage.

All campers must have a physical examination prior to camp. Print and complete this physical exam form for each camper and returned to the summer camp office before the first day of camp.

By registering, campers and their families agree that should they develop any symptoms in the weeks leading up to camp or during camp, (or have exposure to persons who are ill with Covid-19 symptoms) they will immediately and voluntarily withdraw from participation in the camp until they have confirmed negative test results and are cleared by a physician.
