Girls Empowerment Camp

Session 2: July 20-24

Space is limited to 18 campers per session.

Camp Staff
Martha Millison has more than 15 years of experience working as a counselor and educator with students from elementary through college age. She is a certified school counselor and licensed social worker. She currently serves as the school counselor at Green Woods Charter School in Philadelphia. Martha also has many years of experience as a camper, counselor and program director.

Program Highlights
Girls Empowerment Camp will combine creative arts, physical challenge, community service, team-building activities and self-reflection to provide girls with an opportunity to build confidence, step outside of their comfort zones and have fun! Whether a girl is comfortable in her own skin or is trying to break out of her shell, Girls Empowerment is a safe place for her to take risks and find her strength. Activities will include a self-defense workshop, cupcake wars, an improv theater workshop, self-discovery challenges, a high-ropes course, a yoga  workshop, creative arts activities and community service projects.

Sample Schedule

Day 1
Art project in the a.m. and improv theater in the p.m.

Day 2
Ropes course. Full day off campus.

Day 3
Cupcake wars and yoga workshop on campus, plus other activities.

Day 4
Community service off campus.

Day 5
Self-defense workshop in a.m. On campus in p.m. (finish projects, wrap up).

2020 Enrollment Information for One-Week Specialty Camps (except Enrichment and Varsity)
 

Enrollment is limited, so please register early. Nonrefundable full payment is due at time of registration in order to hold a spot for your child. We accept credit card, money order, cash or check payable to William Penn Charter School. There is also a nonrefundable $25 registration fee for each applicant (whether attending one or multiple camps). If registering after June 1, full payment is due in the form of a credit card, money order or cash. A $25 administrative fee will be charged for any changes made to the application after it has been submitted, including transportation changes.

The camp fee covers all regularly scheduled activities, instructions and materials, including a camp T-shirt. Campers who do not choose the lunch option must provide their own lunch, including a beverage.

Drone Camp and Digital Music Design 102 Camp will be closed Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

All campers must have a physical examination prior to camp. Print and complete this physical exam form for each camper and return to the summer camp office before the first day of camp.
